Become a Member
Member Eligibility
Becoming a member of WGE Federal Credit Union is easy! Anyone whose employer is affiliated with WGE Federal Credit Union (see Select Employee Groups), or has an immediate family member that belongs to WGE, is eligible for membership. A simple membership application and an initial deposit of $5.00 into a regular share account activates your membership. This regular share account acts like any savings account. You may make deposits and withdrawals when you wish as long as your balance does not drop below the $5.00 initial deposit.
At WGE, "once a member, always a member" is our philosophy; even if your employment changes or you relocate to another state. When you are a member of WGE Federal Credit Union, you are one of the owners. You have the power to elect the Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting in April. Being an owner has many more privileges than being just a customer. Since the credit union is a not-for-profit financial institution, we rely on the deposits of our members to loan to our members. Support your credit union by using all the services we have available. Our growth depends on you.
Member Application
Simply come into any of WGE's three convenient locations with a government issued ID, such as a driver's license, an initial deposit of $5.00 into a regular share account, and verification of your personal information, such as address and phone, to begin your membership.
Select Employee Groups (SEGs)
Browse through our list of select employers who offer membership to WGE as one of their benefits. Remember, you may be eligible for membership through a family member who works for one of the SEGs.
If you don't see your employer on our list and would like to, download our inquire form or fill it out online to receive more information about your company joining the powerful resources of a credit union. There is no cost and no obligation for your company to join.
SEG Membership Application
To become a select employee group, a letter of interest is required by National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The letter will be submitted to NCUA to request the company membership. The company should be within 25 miles of a WGE branch office. Companies may belong to more than one credit union.
The letter must contain the following elements (see a sample letter):
- The name of your company
- The type of business your company is in
- Number of employees
- Number of years in operation
- Your company's proximity to nearest WGE branch office:
- 4018 N. Broadway Ave.
- 3230 S. Madison St.
- 3700 W. Bethel Ave.
- The name of your employee who will act as the primary contact for WGE
- Signature and title of the official representative of your company
Please submit the letter on company letterhead to: WGE Federal Credit Union, Attn: Jackie Eskew, 3700 W Bethel Ave., Muncie, IN 47304, or fax to (765) 286-3425.
Once the letter is submitted, WGE should receive notification from NCUA within three business days.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jackie Eskew at (765) 281-6011.
